VFAF ENDORSEMENT - Florida - Rolando Escalona for election to the Miami Board of Commissioners District 3

Veterans for America First Endorses Rolando Escalona for Miami City Commissioner, District 3

Veterans for America First proudly announces its endorsement of Rolando Escalona for Miami City Commissioner in District 3. Escalona’s vision is centered on safety, affordability, and infrastructure—three priorities he believes are most critical to residents.

Escalona has pledged to fight corruption with transparency, hold regular town halls, and keep an open-door policy for the people of District 3. He strongly supports term limits, believing two terms—eight years—is enough for any commissioner to accomplish their goals. Veterans for America First recognizes his commitment to restoring trust in local government and ending the cycle of recycled politicians who have failed to deliver results.

Escalona is also committed to supporting small businesses, especially in Little Havana, where he sees enormous potential to grow tourism and strengthen entrepreneurship. He has put forward concrete plans to connect infrastructure, improve storefronts, and highlight the area’s rich cultural identity. Additionally, his focus on maintaining and upgrading Miami’s aging infrastructure before approving new developments shows his practical, people-first approach.

Public safety is at the heart of Escalona’s campaign. He is dedicated to hiring more officers, bringing back street patrols, and ensuring police are fully equipped to do their jobs while building stronger relationships with the community.

Veterans for America First believes Rolando Escalona’s leadership will bring integrity, unity, and accountability to District 3. The organization is proud to stand with him and urges voters to support his candidacy on November 4.

Rolando Escalona’s journey to Miami began eleven years ago with nothing but determination. He came from Cuba with no money, no family, and limited English skills. Today, he is running to be the next City of Miami Commissioner for District 3.

When Escalona first landed in Miami, he worked as a busboy at the well-known restaurant Ceviche 105. From there, he climbed the ladder with dedication and persistence, becoming the general manager of a prominent Brickell restaurant, where he oversees a team of 157 employees. While building his career, he also studied at Miami Dade College and later obtained a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University. Escalona says his personal journey is what inspires him to step into public service.

“I know what it feels like to start from zero,” he said. “That’s why I understand the challenges people in District 3 are facing. I’ve lived them myself.”
