Veterans for America First (VFAF) is proud to announce the appointment of Aliza Fan Dutt as a National Ambassador, bringing her background in journalism, finance and municipal public service to the organization.
Aliza Fan Dutt is a former Mayor of Piney Point Village, Texas, journalist and financial analyst. An immigrant from Hong Kong, Dutt began her career in Washington, D.C., covering the White House, Capitol Hill and federal agencies for Dow Jones and The Oil Daily, with work appearing in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and The New York Times. She later became a senior energy-sector analyst with John S. Herold/IHS Herold, analyzing global oil markets and capital investment. After serving on the Piney Point Village City Council, Dutt was elected mayor in 2024.
Kimberly Taiko Moyers, VFAF National Vet Force Director, welcomed Dutt to the organization and highlighted the personal history that shaped her views on freedom and public service:
“Her family’s escape from communism, her professional experience and her record of public service have shaped a woman who understands exactly what is at stake when liberty is taken for granted.”
Moyers also pointed to Dutt's progression from journalism and finance into municipal government:
“Aliza built her career first as a journalist and later as an energy financial analyst before answering the call to public service. She served on the Piney Point Village City Council and later as Mayor of Piney Point Village.”
Dutt's appointment expands VFAF's national ambassador network with another member whose professional background spans media, business and public service.
“Aliza brings VFAF a distinctive combination of professional experience in journalism, financial analysis and local government,” said Jared Craig, Esq., National Vice President of Veterans for America First. “Her personal story and experience in public service provide an important perspective as she joins our national ambassador team. We welcome Aliza and look forward to her participation in VFAF's outreach and educational efforts.”
