VFAF TEXAS: Veterans for America First National Ambassador Luisa Deason appeared on the Chris Heasley show discussing the state of Immigration in our country.

Deason began her professional career in television journalism with Telemundo in Houston, where she worked as a reporter and rose through the ranks while covering homicides, drug smuggling, immigration, and other issues affecting the Hispanic community. Her biography states that she later joined the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in Houston to oversee public affairs for a 52-county jurisdiction.

Following the September 11 terrorist attacks and the federal reorganization that ultimately created the Department of Homeland Security, Deason continued in public affairs roles connected to INS and later U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Her work included high-profile immigration and national-security matters, multi-agency investigations, crisis communications, human smuggling, trafficking, narcotics, violent gangs, document fraud, worksite enforcement, and critical-infrastructure security.

Her role as an ICE spokeswoman is also reflected in contemporaneous national media coverage. In a 2006 CNN interview concerning a Houston human-smuggling investigation, Deason appeared as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman and provided information about individuals taken into custody.

Since leaving federal service, Deason has continued working in consulting, immigration and national-security education, media, and law-enforcement outreach. Her biography describes extensive work on southern-border issues, immigration policy, national security, anti-terrorism, and federal agency procedures.

Deason is also the host of Frontline Facts with Luisa Deason, a podcast focused on immigration, public policy, national security, law enforcement, and the practical impact of federal policy. She recently published A Reporter’s Journey Inside Media, DHS and ICE, drawing on her experience in both journalism and federal service. Her background as a former investigative reporter and morning news anchor at Telemundo Houston was also noted during a recent appearance on The Michael Berry Show.
