Veterans for America First Hero of the Month – September 2025: Lt. Governor Pamela Evette

Veterans for America First is honored to recognize South Carolina Lt. Governor Pamela Evette as our Hero of the Month. This recognition is reserved for leaders who not only speak about supporting veterans and law enforcement but back up their words with action. Lt. Governor Evette has consistently shown that she is committed to the men and women who wear the uniform, whether in service to their country or in defense of their communities.

Evette stands firmly in support of the 25 Foot Safety Act, legislation designed to give law enforcement officers the space and security they need to perform their duties without being placed in unnecessary danger. In a time when officers are often met with hostility simply for doing their jobs, the act represents more than just a buffer zone—it is a statement of respect. Lt. Governor Evette made it plain: protecting those who protect us must remain a priority in South Carolina and across the Nation.

Her advocacy doesn’t stop with law enforcement. Veterans have long been at the center of her work, and she has shown a genuine interest in addressing their concerns. She has met several times with Veterans for America First leadership to discuss the challenges facing veterans and their families. These conversations have focused on practical issues—benefits, education, healthcare access, housing stability, and the transition into meaningful employment.

What impressed us most was not just her willingness to listen but her eagerness to follow up. Too many leaders make promises that fade once the cameras are gone. Lt. Governor Evette has demonstrated the opposite: persistence, accountability, and follow-through.

Her efforts highlight an important truth: supporting veterans and law enforcement is about more than passing laws. It is about building a culture of respect. She has consistently spoken out about the need to treat those who serve with dignity, not suspicion. By reinforcing the bond between citizens and the people who protect them, she is helping to restore a sense of trust that is vital to our communities. That kind of cultural leadership cannot be measured in press releases or photo opportunities—it is measured in the renewed confidence of those who put their lives on the line.

Lt. Governor Evette also stands out because she understands the importance of partnership. Rather than working in isolation, she has welcomed input from organizations like ours. She has taken time to hear directly from veterans who know firsthand what works and what doesn’t. By engaging with grassroots leaders and incorporating their perspectives, she has shown that her commitment is not just symbolic—it is personal.

For her courage, her advocacy, and her steady leadership, Veterans for America First is proud to honor Lt. Governor Pamela Evette as our Hero of the Month. She represents the values of service, integrity, and dedication that our state should champion. We are proud to stand with her, just as she continues to stand with those who protect us all.
