VFAF Texas Appoints Ricky Rivera as Economic Development Officer

Texas State Chapter Expands Leadership Team to Strengthen Veteran, Business and Community Partnerships

TEXAS — September 15, 2026 — The Texas State Chapter of Veterans for America First (VFAF) announced the appointment of Ricky Rivera as Economic Development Officer, expanding the chapter's leadership team as it works to strengthen relationships among Texas veterans, businesses, community leaders and strategic partners.

Rivera brings more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, business development, politics, media and organizational leadership.

Throughout his career, Rivera has helped shape messaging for congressional campaigns, state agencies and national organizations while developing relationships with reporters, political leaders, influencers, businesses and stakeholders across the country.

His professional experience includes securing endorsements, managing crisis communications, developing strategic partnerships, producing major events, directing regional commercial projects, managing talent and helping organizations strengthen both their public presence and business operations.

That experience will now be put to work in support of America's veteran community through the VFAF Texas State Chapter.

As Economic Development Officer for VFAF Texas, Rivera will work to expand relationships with businesses, community leaders, organizations and strategic partners that recognize supporting veterans requires more than expressions of gratitude—it requires creating meaningful opportunities.

"Supporting our veterans has to mean more than offering words of appreciation," said Kimberly Taiko Moyers, VFAF National Vet Force Director. "It means creating opportunity, opening doors and connecting veterans and their families with businesses, resources and networks that can make a meaningful difference in their lives."

Rivera's role will focus on strengthening the bridge between the veteran and business communities, creating opportunities for strategic partnerships, economic development, community involvement and greater support for those who served.

"Our veterans answered the call when their country needed them," Moyers said. "They stood the watch, wore the uniform, sacrificed time with their families and carried responsibilities most Americans will never fully understand. Serving them today means building something worthy of that sacrifice."

Rivera brings a results-oriented approach to leadership that emphasizes loyalty, trust, hard work, accountability and leading by example. His philosophy is straightforward: a leader should never ask someone to do something he or she is unwilling to do personally.

For Rivera, leadership means showing up, following through and completing the mission. Success is not measured by appearing busy or receiving credit, but by efficiently and effectively crossing the finish line, keeping one's word and producing results.

That philosophy aligns naturally with Veterans for America First.

VFAF believes service does not end when the uniform comes off and that America is stronger when veterans remain engaged in their communities, businesses, government and the future of the country.

"We are proud to welcome Ricky Rivera to the VFAF Texas leadership team," Moyers said. "His communications and business-development experience will be put to work building relationships that can produce tangible results for our veteran community. Patriotism isn't simply something we say—it is something we put into action."

With Rivera joining the Texas State Chapter as Economic Development Officer, VFAF Texas will continue expanding a network designed to provide more relationships, opportunities, resources and community support for veterans and the families who stood beside them.

Veterans first. Service always. America strong.
