Dear Mr. President, I am writing to nominate two extraordinary Americans, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn and Rudy W. Giuliani, for the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of their unparalleled contributions to our nation, their steadfast commitment to its values, and their resilience in the face of unprecedented lawfare.
Lieutenant General Michael Flynn: LTG Flynn is one of the most accomplished and visionary military leaders of his generation, with a distinguished 33-year career in the United States Army. He served in critical roles such as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Assistant Director of National Intelligence, where his leadership transformed how the U.S. conducted intelligence operations in the 21st century.
His groundbreaking strategies in counterterrorism and intelligence operations directly contributed to saving countless American lives. LTG Flynn developed innovative methods for tracking and dismantling terrorist networks, integrating technology and real-time intelligence to improve battlefield outcomes. He was instrumental in shaping the Joint Special Operations Command's (JSOC) effectiveness in Iraq and Afghanistan, where his work significantly weakened Al-Qaeda and other extremist groups.
Beyond his military service, LTG Flynn has been an outspoken advocate for government accountability, transparency, and the preservation of American freedoms. Despite enduring relentless and politically motivated lawfare designed to discredit his service and sacrifice, he has remained resolute, continuing to inspire millions of Americans with his courage, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the Constitution.
Rudy W. Giuliani: Rudy Giuliani’s legacy is one of unparalleled leadership, resilience, and dedication to justice. As the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, he revolutionized the fight against organized crime, leading the prosecution of Mafia families in groundbreaking cases that are still studied today. His efforts not only crippled organized crime in the United States but also established new benchmarks for justice and the rule of law.
As Mayor of New York City, Giuliani spearheaded a transformative era for the nation’s largest city. Through his innovative “Broken Windows” policing strategy, he led the most significant reduction in crime in New York’s history, making the city safer and revitalizing its economy. His leadership during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks cemented his place in history as “America’s Mayor,” uniting the nation and providing hope and strength in one of its darkest hours.
In recent years, Giuliani has continued to serve as an outspoken advocate for justice, election integrity, and American values. Like LTG Flynn, he has faced relentless lawfare aimed at silencing him and tarnishing his reputation. Yet, his resilience and determination to uphold the principles of democracy and freedom remain unwavering.
Both Men’s Enduring Legacies: LTG Flynn and Rudy Giuliani embody the highest ideals of service, leadership, and sacrifice. Their remarkable achievements have not only shaped the course of history but have also inspired millions of Americans. Their perseverance in the face of adversity, particularly the unprecedented lawfare they have endured, is a testament to their character, strength, and dedication to the nation.
Awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to these two patriots would be a fitting recognition of their extraordinary contributions to our country’s safety, justice, and democratic values. It would also honor their enduring commitment to the ideals that make America great.
Thank you for considering this nomination for two individuals who have left an indelible mark on our nation’s history.
Very respectfully,
