HOUSTON, TEXAS — September 11, 2026 — Veterans for America First National Ambassador and board member Polly Looper joined community leaders, law enforcement officers, first responders and area residents at Houston’s Fallen Warriors Memorial for a solemn 9/11 remembrance honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The September 11 ceremony marked 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The remembrance honored the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, the first responders who ran toward danger, and American service members who sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation.
Looper, who serves on the Cy-Champ Public Utility District Board, was present at the memorial and shared a simple message reflecting on the freedoms secured through sacrifice: “A moment of reflection, with the freedom to do it.”
The Fallen Warriors Memorial at Cy-Champ Park in northwest Houston features four large granite walls bearing the names of Texas service members who lost their lives in service to the country. The site has become a permanent place of remembrance for military families, veterans, first responders and the surrounding community.
The ceremony also included Constable Mark Herman and Commissioner Tom Ramsey, who joined community leaders and guests in remembering the victims of 9/11, fallen warriors and first responders. Deputies from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office participated as well.
Looper brings a substantial law-enforcement and public-safety background to her community service, with experience that includes work as a 911 dispatcher, police officer, fraud investigator and licensed private investigator. Veterans for America First previously highlighted her longstanding support for veterans, law enforcement and first responders .
