Veterans for America First Names Gold Star Mother Tracy LaPorte “Hero of the Month” for January 2026 Award Honors Her Courage, Service, and Lifelong Commitment to Uplifting Fallen Heroes, Veterans, and Families
Newnan, GA — Veterans for America First (VFAF) is proud to honor Tracy “2Step” LaPorte, Gold Star Mother and Founder of the Sgt 2Step Foundation, as its Hero of the Month for January 2026. The announcement was made today by Jared Craig, Esq., National Vice President of VFAF. Tracy LaPorte’s life has been defined by sacrifice, service, and unyielding compassion. After losing her beloved son, Sergeant Adam “2Step” H. LaPorte, a proud U.S. Army Infantryman who gave his life in service to our nation, she turned profound grief into a powerful force for good. Out of that loss, she founded the Sgt 2Step Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to honoring fallen heroes and supporting survivors, veterans, first responders, and underserved youth through scholarships, events, remembrance ceremonies, scholarships, and healing programs.
“Tracy LaPorte embodies what it means to serve beyond the battlefield,” said Jared Craig, Esq., National Vice President of Veterans for America First. “Her leadership, resilience, and tireless advocacy have transformed tragedy into hope for countless families. She stands as an inspiration not only to veterans and Gold Star families, but to all Americans who value sacrifice, community, and remembrance.”
The Sgt 2Step Foundation carries forward Sgt. Adam “2Step” LaPorte’s legacy by offering programs that address both remembrance and healing. From music and writing camps that empower youth and survivors to scholarships and community resilience retreats, the organization ensures that no service or sacrifice is forgotten — because “The Beat of the Brave Lives On.” As January’s Hero of the Month, Tracy LaPorte will be featured across VFAF networks and partner platforms, spotlighting her work, mission, and the impact of the Sgt 2Step Foundation on communities nationwide.
