Veterans for America First – Georgia State Chapter
Issues Official Commendation to the Georgia Republican Party
For Advancing Election Integrity Through Hand-Marked Paper Ballots
The Georgia State Chapter of Veterans for America First (VFAF) hereby issues an official Commendation to the Georgia Republican Party for its February 3, 2026 public commitment to advancing election integrity in Georgia through the transition from electronic voting systems to hand-marked paper ballots.
This announcement reflects the sustained efforts of grassroots activists across the state and represents a meaningful step toward restoring voter confidence in Georgia elections.
In its statement issued at 10:34 AM on February 3, 2026, the Georgia Republican Party declared:
“Yesterday was the first in a series of announcements regarding the future of how we will conduct elections in Georgia and reflects the recognition by our elected officials of the respectful and persistent activism of grassroots Georgia Republicans.
The Georgia Republican Party will be actively engaging with our partners in the General Assembly in the coming weeks to realize our goal of transitioning from electronic voting to voting on hand marked paper ballots.
We believe the 2026 legislative session is the best opportunity since the Dominion machines were instituted to finally get away from a method of voting that has lost the confidence of a large percentage of Georgia voters and replace it with a simple, tried and true method that has been implemented with success in over 70% of the country.”
Veterans for America First commends this statement as clear, principled, and responsive to the will of Republican voters who have consistently called for transparent, auditable elections.
VFAF specifically recognizes the leadership and contributions of:
-
David Shafer, former Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, for his early and sustained efforts to elevate election integrity as a priority issue; and
-
Joshua McKoon, current Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, for advancing this initiative at a decisive moment ahead of the 2026 legislative session.
Since its founding as the original 2015 Veterans for Trump grassroots movement, Veterans for America First has advocated nationally and at the state level for election integrity reforms, including the use of paper ballots and same-day vote counting. These efforts have consistently aligned with the public calls of President Donald J. Trump, who has repeatedly emphasized that elections must be conducted using methods that are transparent, verifiable, and trusted by the American people.
The Georgia Republican Party’s stated goal of replacing electronic voting systems with hand-marked paper ballots represents an opportunity to place Georgia among the majority of states that already rely on proven, auditable voting methods.
At the same time, Veterans for America First issues a clear call for party unity in Georgia. Recent election outcomes nationally — including the Texas special election loss — serve as a warning that internal division is a strategic liability. Republicans weaken themselves when energy is diverted toward public infighting rather than grassroots activism, voter engagement, and policy advancement.
Differences of opinion belong at the convention floor and within party processes — not on public platforms that fracture trust and undermine shared objectives. Georgia Republicans must remain focused and unified to capitalize on this moment and secure victories in 2026 and beyond.
Veterans for America First stands ready to support election integrity efforts, grassroots engagement, and Republican unity throughout the State of Georgia.
This commendation is issued in recognition of principled leadership, persistent grassroots advocacy, and a shared commitment to restoring confidence in Georgia elections.
