VFAF has issued an endorsement of Veteran / Attorney Bryan Taylor for Alabama Chief Justice.
“Bryan will rule based on the law , not politics , and stop the weaponized use of the justice system against conservatives” said Stan Fitzgerald VFAF president.
Bryan Taylor is a decorated Iraq War veteran and a retired Army Judge Advocate with 22 years of legal experience across the military, private practice, and public service.
He is a co-founding partner of the law firm of Bachus, Brom & Taylor, where he concentrates his practice in Constitutional law and appeals, election law, business litigation, and public policy.
In addition to his military and civilian legal experience, Bryan has served as a legal counsel to the Alabama Republican Party and two Republican governors, most recently as Chief Legal Advisor to Governor Kay Ivey.
In 2010, Bryan defeated a powerful 7-term Democrat incumbent to become the first Republican ever elected to the State Senate from the 30th District. As a freshman state senator, Bryan built a strong conservative record.
- Bryan fought for the sanctity of life and Second Amendment rights.
- He improved ballot security and election integrity by advancing the photo voter ID bill into law.
- He led the charge to repeal the legislature’s pay raise.
- As a fiscal conservative, he fought for balanced budget reforms and sponsored the bill requiring the legislature to repay every dime borrowed from our state’s savings account, the Alabama Trust Fund.
- Bryan also spearheaded the passage of sweeping ethics reforms, including the bill that made it illegal for public officials in Alabama to take lavish junkets, gifts, and meals from lobbyists.
Bryan is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for his combat service in Iraq. And he has held numerous leadership positions in the Alabama National Guard, such as the State’s Chief of Military Justice and Senior State Defense Counsel.
He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Texas Law School. He considers it his highest priority to teach his three children the same values he learned as an Eagle Scout: Duty to God, Duty to Family, and Duty to Country.
They live in Shelby County, where they attend Double Oak Community Church.
