TEXAS — Veterans for America First (VFAF) Texas is proud to announce its endorsement of Perla Hopkins for Lieutenant Governor of Texas in the March 3, 2026 Republican primary election.
The endorsement was issued by Kimberly Taiko Moyers, Vice President of Veterans for America First Texas and a United States Navy Veteran, citing Hopkins’ record of military service, lifelong commitment to military families, and platform centered on border security, veterans’ priorities, and Texas sovereignty.
“Perla Hopkins is the kind of leader Texas needs right now. She has served honorably in the United States Air Force, supported military families for more than two decades as a military spouse, and has consistently demonstrated the values of duty, integrity, and Service Before Self,” said Moyers. “Perla understands what it means to protect our nation, support our veterans, and defend Texas families. Veterans for America First Texas is proud to stand with her.”
Hopkins served four years on active duty in the United States Air Force. She has also been a military spouse for more than 25 years, raising three children through frequent moves and deployments. After her own service, Hopkins continued supporting military readiness and family resilience as a Key Spouse volunteer. She later served as an educator in Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDEA) in military communities across Germany, Texas, South Carolina, and Mississippi, giving her firsthand experience with the unique challenges facing military children and families.
Hopkins’ campaign emphasizes strong border security and national defense, opposition to foreign land ownership near military installations, and a firm stance that “Texas is not for sale.” She has also advocated for stronger veterans’ protections, accountability for elected officials who fail Texas veterans, and policies supporting military families, including the Military Children’s Education Compact, school safety measures, parental rights, and improved teacher incentives.
Hopkins has described her candidacy as grounded in the principle that “U.S. military veterans know what it means to serve,” and she has pledged to bring that same service-driven leadership to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, which plays a central role in shaping Texas Senate priorities and statewide policy.
Veterans for America First (VFAF) is the original 2015 Veterans for Trump grassroots organization. VFAF supports candidates who defend American sovereignty, prioritize border security, uphold constitutional principles, and put veterans and working families first.
