Veterans for America First Appoints DJ Daniels National Ambassador; Announces Endorsement of Theodis Daniel for Texas House District 147

CYPRESS, TEXAS — October 16, 2026 — Veterans for America First (VFAF), also known as Veterans for Trump, announces the appointment of nationally recognized childhood cancer survivor and honorary law enforcement officer Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel as a National Ambassador. In his first official endorsement on behalf of the organization, DJ announced VFAF's support for his father, Theodis Daniel, the Republican nominee for Texas House of Representatives District 147.

The announcement was made by VFAF National Ambassador Adam Schoof, a law enforcement officer with 16 years of experience, during the October 15, 2026, Get Out the Vote Rally in Cypress, Texas. The event was organized by VFAF's Justin Schiro in coordination with the organization's Texas State Chapter leadership team.

DJ Daniels: A National Symbol of Courage and Support for Law Enforcement

Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, a Houston-area teenager, has become nationally recognized for his extraordinary determination while battling brain and spinal cancer. Diagnosed in 2018 at approximately six years old, DJ was initially given only five months to live. Despite undergoing numerous surgeries and extensive medical treatment, he has continued pursuing his dream of becoming a police officer.

DJ's remarkable journey has taken him across the United States, where he has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer by thousands of police departments and other agencies.

His story reached a national audience on March 4, 2025, when President Donald J. Trump recognized him during a joint address to Congress and directed the United States Secret Service to make DJ an honorary special agent. The announcement received a standing ovation from members of Congress, with his father, Theodis Daniel, proudly lifting him into the air during the ceremony.

DJ has also been recognized by the United States Park Police, New York City Police Department, and numerous other law enforcement agencies. In April 2025, the Texas Senate formally recognized his accomplishments and designated April 7 as DJ Daniel Day at the State Capitol.

His public appearances have helped raise awareness of childhood cancer while honoring police officers, first responders, and families confronting serious medical challenges.

Through his appointment as a VFAF National Ambassador, DJ will continue his public advocacy and support for law enforcement, first responders, veterans, and their families.

DJ Daniels Announces First VFAF Endorsement for His Father

As his first official action as a National Ambassador, DJ Daniels announced Veterans for America First's endorsement of his father, Theodis Daniel, for Texas House District 147.

Theodis Daniel, a United States military veteran and father of three, has spoken publicly about his family's challenges and his commitment to public service. His campaign has emphasized law enforcement, public safety, education, healthcare, and fiscal responsibility.

Daniel advanced from the March 3, 2026, Republican primary and will appear on the November 3, 2026, general election ballot for Texas House District 147.

The endorsement represents a significant moment for the father and son, whose journey together has received national attention through DJ's battle with cancer and his recognition by law enforcement agencies across America.
