With a message that South Carolina has the most liberal Republican legislators than any other state in the union, Jay brings his conservative values to Columbia’s very own swamp.
Jay says “the Republican Creed we recite states:
“I will not trade freedom for beneficence, nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master, save my God.
“It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid. To think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations; to face the whole world boldly and say, ‘I am a free American.’”
Kilmartin says that “far too often, those promises are forgotten on the day we get sworn in. When I was asked to run by politically active friends who were concerned where our state was headed, I reluctantly accepted. And after one year at the state house, their concerns were proven to be valid.”
With a solid foundation in what a conservative should be, Kilmartin fights for all life, the Second Amendment, against crony capitalism and fights against all forms of Marxism being taught in our public schools.
Kilmartin is married to his wife Elizabeth and they have two children. Their son Ian, a recent United States Coast Guard veteran and small business owner as well as daughter Rhys, who attends Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Rhys served as the school’s president of their Turning Point USA Chapter before recently being asked to serve as student body vice president. She begins her term as Vice President in January 2024.
