VFAF Stands Firm: No More Donations Until the SAVE Act Is Passed

President Donald Trump has said the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act is his top priority. The bill would require photo identification and proof of citizenship to vote

ACWORTH, GA — Stan Fitzgerald, a National Ambassador with Veterans for America First (VFAF) and widely recognized for helping revive and reorganize the national grassroots organization in 2020 after its original 2015 founding, has announced that he will make no further political campaign contributions until the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is passed into law. A longtime Republican donor and grassroots organizer, Fitzgerald stated that strengthening election integrity through proof-of-citizenship requirements for federal voter registration is, in his view, a prerequisite to additional financial support for political campaigns.

Although Fitzgerald has remained on leave from active political operations since March 2026, he is expected to return prior to the 2026 midterm election cycle to assist Republican candidates and grassroots initiatives aimed at maintaining the party's congressional majorities. His anticipated return has generated interest among supporters familiar with his previous leadership roles in political organizing, communications, and veteran outreach.

Fitzgerald's announcement follows his recent recognition by the Republican National Committee. As a member of the Veterans for America First National Leadership Board and Georgia State Political Director, he was awarded the 2026 Republican National Committee President's Club Certificate of Appreciation. The certificate, signed by President Donald J. Trump and RNC Chairman Joe Gruters, recognizes Fitzgerald's "Dedication, Sacrifice and Commitment to President Trump, the Republican Party and our movement to Keep America Great Again." The honor reflects his longstanding involvement in Republican grassroots efforts, veteran advocacy, and conservative political organizing in Georgia and across the United States.
