Veterans for America First Georgia Endorses Representative Soo Hong for Re-Election to Georgia House District 103- Announced by Kartik Bhatt at the Georgia State Capital.

Gwinnett County, GA — Veterans for America First (VFAF) Georgia is proud to announce its endorsement of Representative Soo Hong for re-election to the Georgia State House, District 103, citing her strong record of leadership, commitment to public safety, and dedication to protecting the American Dream for Georgia families.

Representative Hong, a Marietta native, was first elected to represent the citizens of House District 103 in November 2022 and has served the communities of Buford, Sugar Hill, unincorporated Gwinnett County, and southern Hall County since taking office on January 8, 2023.

During her first term, Rep. Hong quickly emerged as a respected voice in the Georgia General Assembly. In 2023, Governor Brian Kemp named her a Floor Leader, recognizing her ability to help advance policies that strengthen Georgia’s economy, improve public safety, and expand opportunities for families across the state.

“Representative Soo Hong has demonstrated the kind of principled leadership Georgia needs,” said Jared Craig, Esq., Chief Legal Counsel for Veterans for America First, National Vice President, and VFAF Georgia State Chapter President. “She understands the importance of safe communities, economic growth, and protecting the freedoms that make America exceptional. Her personal story and record of service embody the American Dream.”

In the legislature, Rep. Hong has worked with lawmakers from both parties to pass legislation that addresses critical issues facing Georgia families. She has helped lead efforts to combat rising gang violence, increase penalties for human traffickers, and strengthen public safety protections across the state.

Rep. Hong also sponsored several key pieces of legislation during her first term that received strong bipartisan support, including:

House Bill 128, which levels the playing field for women-, minority-, and veteran-owned small businesses, helping expand economic opportunity and entrepreneurship.

House Bill 129, which extended support for pregnant women in Georgia through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, ensuring vulnerable families receive needed assistance.

Rep. Hong currently serves on the House Judiciary Committee, chairs the Judiciary Non-Civil Subcommittee, and is a member of the Judicial Nomination Commission.

Her journey to public service reflects the American Dream. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Rep. Hong immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 10. With the help of dedicated teachers at Powers Ferry Elementary School, she learned English and built the foundation for a successful future.

She went on to graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology and later earned her law degree from Mercer University. Rep. Hong has been a practicing attorney for more than a decade and operates her own law practice serving individuals and families in Gwinnett and Cobb counties.

“Watching my parents work tirelessly to build a better life in America taught me the value of hard work and opportunity,” Rep. Hong has said. “I truly believe in the American Dream, and I am committed to making sure future generations have the same opportunities that my family found here in Georgia.”

As a state representative, Rep. Hong has prioritized job creation, tax relief, small business growth, strong public safety policies, affordable healthcare access, and the defense of constitutional freedoms.

Veterans for America First Georgia encourages voters in House District 103 to support Rep. Hong’s re-election so she can continue working to make Georgia safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
