VFAF Announces Endorsement of Texas State Representative Mitch Little
Veterans for America First – Veterans for Trump cites Little’s legislative record on constitutional rights, public safety, law enforcement and recognition of military service
TEXAS — September 17, 2026 — Veterans for America First (VFAF), also known as Veterans for Trump, announced its endorsement of Texas State Representative Mitch Little, who represents House District 65, encompassing part of Denton County.
Kimberly Taiko Moyers, National Vet Force Director for Veterans for America First, announced the organization’s endorsement, citing Little’s legislative record in areas including constitutional rights, public safety, support for law enforcement and recognition of military service.
Little is an attorney and served during the 89th Texas Legislature on the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence, among his legislative assignments. Official Texas House records confirm his service on that committee.
A significant component of Little’s legislative record involves Texas’ Anti-Red Flag Act. Little was a coauthor of HB 162, legislation concerning the recognition, service and enforcement of extreme-risk protective orders. Texas Legislature Online identifies HB 162 with the subject designation “Anti-Red Flag Act” and lists Little among its coauthors.
The identical Senate companion, SB 1362, ultimately became law and took effect September 1, 2025. Little was a House cosponsor of that legislation. The enacted law restricts specified state and local governmental entities from adopting or enforcing extreme-risk protective-order measures unless specifically authorized by Texas law. It also addresses federal grant funding related to such orders and establishes a state-jail-felony offense for unauthorized service or enforcement of an extreme-risk protective order.
Little’s legislative record also includes measures involving law enforcement and violent crime. He served as the House sponsor of SB 2177, which established a grant program designed to assist local law-enforcement agencies in solving violent and sexual offenses. Texas Legislature Online records that the measure became effective immediately on June 20, 2025.
His record also includes legislation recognizing military sacrifice. Little was a joint author of HCR 149, directing the governor to posthumously award the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor to U.S. Navy SEAL Nathan Gage Ingram of Roanoke in recognition of his military service. The resolution passed the Texas House 130-0 and the Senate 31-0 and was signed by the governor on June 20, 2025.
Veterans for America First said its endorsement reflects the organization’s assessment of Little’s record on constitutional rights, public safety, law enforcement and recognition of military service.
