Veterans for America First is proud to offer its full endorsement of Retired Lieutenant Colonel Craig Haggard for Congress in Indiana’s 4th Congressional District.
Many of us have followed Craig’s career for a long time, and what stands out isn’t just the length of his service but the depth of it. He spent 11 years in the United States Marine Corps and then another 11 years in the Air Force National Guard in Active Guard Reserve (AGR) status. Very few candidates can claim more than two decades in uniform, let alone service in two branches, but Craig never viewed it as exceptional… just his duty.
People who served with him remember his steady, dependable leadership. Craig wasn’t the loudest guy in the room, but he was the one everyone looked to when things got tough. He earned trust the old-fashioned way: by showing up, keeping his word, and taking care of the people he led. In the military, that kind of reputation isn’t handed out. It’s built day by day, year by year. Craig built his over 22 years.
His experience gives him a clear understanding of national security, readiness, and the real-world challenges facing veterans. He has lived through deployments, bureaucratic hurdles, and the transition back to civilian life. He knows what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change. More importantly, he approaches these issues with practical solutions rather than political talking points.
Craig shares the core principles that Veterans for America First stands for: secure borders, a strong defense, respect for law enforcement, and a firm commitment to protecting constitutional freedoms. These aren’t abstract ideas to him… they’re values shaped by decades of service.
